Molalugi Investments respects your privacy and handles personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. What we collect

  • Customers: your name, phone number, the messages you send us, your order details and, if we deliver, your address.
  • Employees: our staff payroll system holds what the law requires for paying staff, including ID number, income tax number, bank details, pay and deductions. Only authorised staff can see it.
  • Website visitors: this website does not use analytics or advertising trackers and has no contact form. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address) for security.

2. Why we use it

To take and fulfil orders, contact you about them, pay our staff, meet our tax and labour-law duties (SARS, UIF), and keep our records.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed: with SARS and the Department of Employment and Labour (UIF) for payroll, with our bank to pay staff, with a delivery provider if you ask for delivery, and with our website and hosting providers (Cloudflare), who store data on our behalf. WhatsApp messages are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.

4. How long we keep it

Customer order records are kept for as long as needed for the order and our tax records (up to five years). Payroll records are kept for at least five years, as tax and labour laws require.

5. Security

The payroll system is only reachable with a personal staff login and a strong password, over an encrypted connection.

6. Cookies

The public website sets no cookies. The staff login uses one essential cookie (mi_session) to keep authorised staff signed in; it expires after 12 hours or when they log out. Because only an essential cookie is used, there is no cookie banner. The map on our home page is provided by Google, which may set its own cookies when you use it.

7. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, unless the law requires us to keep it. If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.
